MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Police in Miami Beach says they’ve found a K-9 who bolted out the front door of his handler’s home.

Officials announced on social media that the black and tan Belgian Malinois named Colt was located Thursday afternoon, about 11 hours after disappearing in Cutler Bay. He was spotted by a Miami police lieutenant who had been out canvasing.

Police spokesman Ernesto Rodriguez said in a news release that 2-year-old Colt had been wearing a cone around his neck due to a back toe amputation. The dog is just three weeks from finishing the agency’s four-month training program.
