ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) - A man has been charged with felony DUI after being part of a deadly head-on collision.

Media outlets report the wreck occurred Wednesday morning in North Anderson.

Authorities say 29-year-old Jonathan Hamby was driving a company vehicle near Westside High School. Hamby’s truck crossed the median and hit a Chevrolet Trailblazer head-on.

Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore says 49-year-old Loretta Renee Pressley, who was in the Trailblazer, died in the wreck. Her 4-year-old grandson sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Shore says witnesses reported seeing Hamby slumped over in the truck before the wreck happened.

South Carolina Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Bill Rhyne says Hamby has been charged with felony DUI resulting in death and felony DUI resulting in great bodily injury.

It wasn’t immediately clear if Hamby has an attorney.
