CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - About 4,800 people have turned out for a prayer rally with Franklin Graham in Charleston. Graham is the son of evangelist Billy Graham.

Franklin Graham is traveling to every state, encouraging Christians to vote for candidates who share their values.

The stop at the state Capitol on Thursday happened to fall on National Day of Prayer. WSAZ-TV (https://bit.ly/1YbwXpQ ) reports Graham said it’s something the country desperately needs.

Graham said he doesn’t expect Republicans or Democrats can turn the country around. He says he wants people to pray, because he says God is the only way to reverse the problems the country is facing.

West Virginia is the 22nd stop on the tour.
