Florida Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen had some harsh words for the Kardashian family after they traveled to Cuba to shoot scenes for the latest season of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.”

Kim, Khloe and Kourtney posted online photos of themselves smoking Cuban cigars and posing in front of landmarks while seemingly ignoring the economic strife and human rights abuses endured by citizens of the communist country.

“I know it’s cool for celebrities to go to Cuba, but the Cuban people don’t experience the glamorous Havana that is featured on social media,” Ms. Ros-Lehtinen, a Cuban-born Republican, told People magazine. “Far from photo shoots and fruity drinks, everyday Cubans experience a different, sad reality.

“Now, the Kardashians are parachuting into the island to tape their vapid TV show,” she added. “Haven’t the Cuban people suffered enough?”

One photo that particularly sparked the ire of Townhall editor Katie Pavlich showed Khloe Kardashian posing in front of a wall that read, “Fidel.”

“Fidel throws people in prison for attempting to use Twitter,” Ms. Pavlich tweeted Wednesday. “He’s also had a lot of people killed and is a massive human rights violator but hey, viva!”
