DEER LODGE, Mont. (AP) - A Montana State Prison inmate serving a life sentence for killing a convenience store clerk in Great Falls in 1986 has died in prison.

Prison officials say 55-year-old Donald Dubray was found unresponsive in his cell on Wednesday. An autopsy is planned to determine the cause of death, but foul play is not suspected.

Dubray was convicted of stabbing Suzette Pritchard 24 times and taking $300 from the store. The case went unsolved for 11 years. Dubray was charged in 1997 and convicted two years later of robbery, felony theft and murder.

Dubray finished a 27-year federal sentence for raping a Browning girl before he began his Montana sentence in August 2014.
