SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - A man was hit and killed by a big rig on Interstate 5 in Sacramento County after surviving an earlier crash.

The Sacramento Bee reports (https://bit.ly/1SR88f3 ) that the 65-year-old man from Sloughhouse had been in a crash with a big rig on Wednesday when he walked away from his vehicle. He was then struck by a second tractor-trailer and killed.

California Highway Control officials say the man may have been confused when he walked away from the first crash.
