SALISBURY, Md. (AP) - A man convicted of killing a teenager when he shot into a crowd in a hotel parking lot has been sentenced to life in prison.

Nineteen-year-old Jarrett Stokes had been convicted of first-degree murder in the death of 17-year-old Rakim Russell of Fruitland. Stokes was sentenced Thursday in Wicomico County Circuit Court.

WMDT-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1YbnXB4 ) that on Aug. 2, three men got into a fight with another group at a party at Americas Best Value Inn in Salisbury. Prosecutors say the men left, picked up Stokes, and drove back to the parking lot.

Prosecutors say Stokes shot four rounds into the crowd of 75 to 100 people, hitting and killing Russell, who was standing in the crowd.
