MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - A Florida man who hired a Minneapolis matchmaker to find love is suing the businesswoman in federal court.

A civil complaint filed on behalf of Hammond Meredith says he hired Kailen Rosenberg, creator of The Love Architects, which advertises as an “elite matchmaking and love design firm.”

Meredith’s lawsuit says he paid Rosenberg $400,000 over several years beginning in 2012. KMSP-TV (https://bit.ly/21Ak3U8 ) reports the complaint says Rosenberg told Meredith he could see a potential match if he considered investing in a new online dating club called The Lodge. But, despite investment promises, Meredith says the dating site didn’t have millions of dollars in investments and a business plan.

The lawsuit asks for the return of Meredith’s investment and that Rosenberg stop billing him for additional matchmaking services.

Rosenberg did not immediately return calls seeking comment.
