PASADENA, Calif. (AP) - Pasadena police have arrested a parolee they say kidnapped two women while wearing a monitoring device.

Anthony McDaniel of Compton was arrested Wednesday and remains jailed. It’s not immediately clear if he has a lawyer.

Police allege he gave two 18-year-olds a ride Saturday night at a Pasadena bus stop but then tried to kidnap them.

Investigators say one woman jumped from the moving pickup truck, suffering a broken ankle, and the driver pulled a gun on the remaining woman and demanded sexual favors as they drove on a freeway.

Police say that woman grabbed the steering wheel, causing the truck to hit a car, and then was pushed from the slow-moving truck.

Police say McDaniel was wearing a GPS device because he was on parole after an assault conviction.
