JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - A helicopter pilot has been injured in a crash on Norris Glacier in southeast Alaska.

Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer Joshua Ryan told the Juneau Empire (https://bit.ly/24AJneK ) the pilot was being taken to a Juneau hospital.

Ryan says the pilot of the Era Helicopters aircraft was the only person on board. He says the helicopter went down within sight of a dog camp.

He says the pilot was responsive and was complaining of chest pains but could move around.

National Weather Service forecaster Kimberly Vaughan said weather conditions near the glacier were unfavorable but not abnormal Thursday, with rain and easterly winds in the afternoon.
