ESCONDIDO, Calif. (AP) - Authorities in San Diego County say 15-year-old student was arrested after a small homemade bomb exploded on the campus of a small school in Escondido.

The Union-Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/1ru7VHy ) nobody was hurt and no buildings were damaged in the blast Thursday in the bushes outside the auditorium at San Pasqual Academy.

Sheriff’s officials say the bomb was made with toilet cleaner and foil inside a plastic soda bottle.

Sgt. Tom Vrable says a teacher picked the bottle up but tossed it after the student warned that it would explode.

The school, run by the county for foster children made wards of the court, was locked down while deputies searched the campus. No other devices were found.

The teen was taken to Juvenile Hall. He could face explosives possession charges.
