MINOT, N.D. (AP) - State, federal and local officials have dedicated Minot’s new $43 million airport terminal.

Gov. Jack Dalrymple and members of the state’s congressional delegation took part in a ceremony Friday afternoon.

Dalrymple says the improvements will help the community and region address rapid economic growth and large increases in airline activity.

Passenger numbers in Minot have surged in recent years, along with the western oil boom. The new terminal can handle about 300,000 annual boardings - triple the number of the old facility.

The new terminal has six gates, four jet bridges, state-of-the-art monitors and boarding areas, a sports bar-style restaurant and a play area for children.
