ALEXANDRIA, La. (AP) - A landmark hotel in downtown Alexandria is reopening.

The Town Talk reports (https://townta.lk/24A9Itn ) that the Hotel Bentley is again accepting guests.

Owner Michael Jenkins says 62 rooms are now operating on the hotel’s third and fourth floors, while renovations continue to 31 rooms on the fifth floor. He says the hotel’s restaurant will open once it passes a health inspection. The hotel will also eventually host condominiums, and Jenkins says he’d like to add a gift shop.

Jenkins bought the hotel in 2012, and has faced delays in completing the renovation of the 108-year-old Hotel Bentley, long an anchor of downtown Alexandria.
