MACON, Ga. (AP) - Prosecutors say a man has been charged after a Georgia sheriff’s deputy was killed while pursuing a suspicious vehicle.

The Bibb County District Attorney’s Office told The Telegraph (https://bit.ly/1ryRUAE) on Friday that Martavius T. Kinder is charged with felony murder, vehicular homicide in the first degree and reckless driving.

Bibb County sheriff’s Lt. Randy Gonzalez says 29-year-old Deputy Anthony Freeman died at a hospital after a crash early Thursday in the central Georgia county. Gonzalez says Freeman’s patrol vehicle was struck by the suspect’s vehicle. The impact of the crash sent the deputy’s car into the front of a house.

Authorities say Kinder refused to stop for deputies and suffered minor injuries. He is being held at the Monroe County jail. It’s not clear whether Kinder has an attorney.
