SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - Authorities in Sioux Falls have taken four children into protective custody and arrested their mother after finding what they said was a filthy home with drugs present.

Investigators say 24-year-old Jenna Foster’s home was filled with trash and smelled of urine, and that children were sleeping on the floor. Officers said they also found a bag Wednesday that contained marijuana residue.

Foster is charged with child abuse, contributing to the delinquency of minors and drug counts. It wasn’t clear if she had obtained a lawyer, and a home telephone listing for her couldn’t be found.
