GORMAN, Calif. (AP) - One of California’s main freeways is closed after flash flooding sent water and mud flowing into Interstate 5 at the Grapevine.

California Highway Patrol Sgt. Layne Logan says there are no immediate reports of anyone stuck or trapped in the mud.

Drivers on both directions of Interstate 5 between Grapevine and State Route 138 are being assisted off the roadway.

Logan says the freeway will remain closed until crews can clear debris from the road.

The National Weather Service had issued a flash flood warning for parts of the Grapevine until 6:30 p.m.
