DETROIT (AP) - Four U.S. museums involved in an effort to bring art to unexpected places are teaming up on a summer photo contest.

Organizers say the #InsideOutUSA Photo Contest starts June 3 with events in Detroit, Philadelphia and Miami as well as Akron, Ohio. The contest involves documenting “Inside/Out” projects in the cities and runs through June 12. Winners will be announced June 16.

The Detroit Institute of Arts started “Inside/Out” in 2010 and the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation has supported the program in recent years. It’s since expanded to the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the PĂ©rez Art Museum Miami and the Akron Art Museum.

“Inside/Out” includes the installation of artwork reproductions outside. Plans call for expanding the program to other cities.
