TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Pima County is asking a court to throw out a lawsuit by the Goldwater Institute over a multi-million-dollar deal the county made with a balloon spaceflight company in Tucson.

The Arizona Daily Star reports (https://bit.ly/1TvThX7 ) that lawyers for the county on Wednesday filed a motion for the case to be dismissed and County Administrator Chuck Huckelberry said the county will continue to fight against the litigation.

The Goldwater Institute says the $15 million incentives package offered to World Views Enterprises that includes building a 120,000-square-foot headquarters is unconstitutional. The institute also says Pima County didn’t hold a competitive bidding process and planned the deal behind closed doors.
