BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - Smoke from a wildfire that’s raging in western Canada might impact North Dakotans.

National Weather Service meteorologist Bill Abeling tells The Bismarck Tribune that the smoke has remained aloft in the atmosphere above the state, but changing winds could bring it to the surface.

The fires near Fort McMurray, Alberta, have forced more than 80,000 people from their homes. Officials say no deaths or injuries related to the fire have been reported.
