LEESVILLE, La. (AP) - The Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office says the body of a missing 2-year-old Hornbeck girl has been found in a remote area of Beauregard Parish.

Willow Rain Renteria-Molina had been reported missing Thursday. The Town Talk reports (https://townta.lk/1Zrakhe ) that her mother returned home from work to discover that the girl and the man who was serving as her baby sitter were gone.

The man was identified as 33-year-old Rodney Bailey Jr., who has since been jailed in Beauregard Parish on drug and firearm charges. He was taken into custody after authorities were able to track him to DeRidder. Online records show he remained in jail Saturday.

The girl’s body was found Friday. The cause of death has not been released and authorities have not announced charges in connection with her death.
