KEYPORT, N.J. (AP) - Two fishermen stranded on a marsh have been rescued by a Coast Guard helicopter crew.

Watchstanders at the guard’s New York Command Center received word around 8 p.m. Friday that the men had been fishing on a sandbar near Keyport when they were stranded by the incoming tide.

An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City responded to the scene along with local emergency responders.

The responders soon rescued one of the fishermen while the helicopter crew hoisted up the other man.

Officials say it did not appear that either fisherman was seriously injured, though one was treated for hypothermia.

Their names have not been released.
