RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - An exhibit of the first containing all of William Shakespeare’s plays Is opening at the N.C. Museum of History.

The exhibit of the 1623 First Folio opens Saturday and runs through May 30 at the museum in Raleigh. The folio is on a national tour from the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington, D.C., that includes stops in each state, Puerto Rico and Washington.

The First Folio was published seven years after Shakespeare’s death 400 years ago and includes 36 of his plays. Eighteen of those had never been printed.

Without the First Folio, plays such as “MacBeth,” ”Julius Caesar,” ”Twelfth Night,” ”The Tempest” and “As You Like It” might have been lost forever.
