PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Authorities say a fire in a south Philadelphia row house killed a man and a woman.

Officials said the blaze was reported at about 11:25 p.m. Friday and was brought under control in about 20 minutes.

WPVI-TV (https://6abc.cm/272SiI1 ) reported that a man in his 70s and a woman in her 60s were found dead on the third floor.

Fire commissioner Derrick Sawyer said the family had six smoke alarms but they were older models and none had a working battery.
