NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Newark authorities have captured a man they say took part in scheme to scam a 65-year-old man out of cash and his car.

Kareem Blake was arrested at a Newark home on Saturday morning. The 25-year-old man faces numerous charges, including carjacking, robbery and conspiracy.

Authorities say the incident occurred last month when the victim agreed to help a female friend pay a debt.

He drove the woman and two men to a bank and withdrew an undisclosed amount of cash. But the three then allegedly stole the cash and drove off in his car.

The woman was captured and charged last month. But the other man involved in the scam has not been identified and remains at large.

It wasn’t known Saturday if Blake has retained an attorney.
