MARICOPA, Ariz. (AP) - The city of Maricopa is once again in control of its court system more than two years after Pinal County took over.

The Casa Grande Dispatch reports (https://bit.ly/1Wfo0hb ) that Maricopa Justice of the Peace Lyle Riggs is once again at the helm of the city’s courts. Pinal County Superior Court Presiding Judge Stephen McCarville has had administrative oversight of both the county and city courts since February 2014, as ordered by the Arizona Supreme Court.

The oversight stems from former Justice of the Peace and City Magistrate Scott Sulley, who in September 2014 was removed from the bench and barred for life from serving as an Arizona judge after he was accused of falsifying documents, losing records, poor professional conduct and general court mismanagement.
