BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - School Superintendent Kirsten Baesler says applications for North Dakota’s math and English standards writing and review committees are available on the Department of Public Instruction’s website.

Baesler announced her plan to form the committees this week. They will be in charge of reviewing North Dakota’s current math and English standards and developing the next version of standards that will be used in the state’s schools.

The writing committees will be made up of math and English educators in North Dakota’s K-12 schools and university system. Baesler says each will have as many as 35 members.

The three review committees, made up of elected leaders, business and industry leaders, parents and residents, will have as many as seven members each.
