ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) - Search teams are looking for a man who they fear may have drowned in Lake Powell.

The Spectrum of St. George reports (https://bit.ly/1WgMojk) that National Park Service officers along with Utah Department of Public Safety divers searched Friday for any sign of the 51-year-old man.

Kane County Sheriff’s officials say he was last seen Thursday near Lone Rock Beach in the Kane County portion of Wahweap Bay.

They say he was seen struggling in the water and did not resurface.

Searchers have been using sonar equipment to comb a quarter-mile-square area about 78 feet deep.

Authorities say high winds have caused a concern during search efforts, which will continue as weather permits.
