TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (AP) - Travel Michigan and the marketing agency TwoSix Digital are conducting workshops to help the state’s tourism industry make better use of social media, including a program Tuesday in Traverse City.

The workshops are designed for representatives of hotels, retailers, restaurants, convention-and-visitors bureaus and related businesses and organizations.

Each program includes sessions on topics such as digital marketing and collaborating with the Pure Michigan campaign’s social media presence. Participants also get access to an online self-assessment tool and other resources.

The Travel Michigan Social Media Workshop Series began last week in Marquette. To register, see https://www.michigan.org/industry .

State officials say Pure Michigan was the third state tourism brand in the nation to reach more than 1 million fans on Facebook and has the world’s top Instagram travel brand hashtag: #puremichigan.
