POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) - Law enforcement officials in eastern Idaho say they are investigating 15 poorly cared-for horses housed at a fairground race track.

KIVI-TV (https://bit.ly/1O3UvMZ ) reports that a woman alerted the Bannock County Sheriff’s office about the neglected horses at the North Bannock County Fairgrounds on Wednesday.

All but one of the horses has since been removed as of Thursday, where they have been fed and looked over by veterinarians.

Lt. Dan Argyle says the horses’ owners had hired employees to take care of the animals. He added that deputies found the horses in dirty stalls.

Bannock County Deputy Prosecutor Attorney Ashley Graham says no charges have been filed since the investigation is still ongoing.
