PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) - Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders told a crowd of thousands at a campaign rally at New Jersey’s flagship university that “real change is coming to America.”

The Vermont senator spoke Sunday at the Rutgers Athletic Center in Piscataway ahead of the June 7 presidential primary.

Sanders trails front-runner Hillary Clinton in the Democratic presidential primary.

But he cited polls showing he would be the better choice to defeat presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump. He says the American people are stronger when they come together than when they are divided.

Sanders is scheduled to attend a rally in Atlantic City Monday morning.
