BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - The city of Buffalo has released a bicycle master plan designed to make the city more user friendly and safer for bicyclists.

Mayor Byron Brown and GObike Buffalo released the plan Friday along a newly completed $1.7 million bike path in north Buffalo.

Brown has committed to adding 10 miles of facilities per year and says the city will have added more than 90 miles by the end of this year. The goal is to reach 150 miles by 2018, which would push Buffalo up in the rankings of bicycle-friendly communities.

The master plan was funded by the city and New York state.
