EAST BRUNSWICK, N.J. (AP) - State police say a man has died after his vehicle went off the New Jersey Turnpike and landed on a road below.

But the cause of the accident remains under investigation.

The man was alone in the vehicle and was driving northbound on the outer roadway of the Turnpike in East Brunswick when the accident occurred shortly before 4 p.m. Saturday. His vehicle went over the guardrail and landed on Tices Lane, which runs beneath the highway.

The man was ejected from the vehicle during the crash. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

Authorities say no other vehicles were involved in the accident.

The man’s name has not been released. His death was announced on Sunday.
