ALEXANDRIA, La. (AP) - A former Texas city official and Leesville’s current city administrator will be the Rapides Parish Coliseum Authority’s first executive director since 2013.

The Town Talk (https://townta.lk/1O8OZZj) reports that Richard Karamatic submitted his resignation to Leesville on Friday, and it’s effective this Friday.

The Rapides Parish Coliseum Authority closed the Coliseum in April 2014 for renovations, which began a year later. The $22.9 million project is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year.

Karamatic says Leesville is in good hands with Mayor Rick Allen.

Karamatic’s career includes 17 years in the Dallas Parks and Recreation Department. He’s also been assistant director of public facilities for San Antonio and general manager of the Allen (Texas) Events Center Arena.
