LAS VEGAS (AP) - Las Vegas police are searching for a suspect who assaulted a pregnant employee during the robbery of a home improvement store.

Authorities say an armed man entered a Lowe’s store around 8:30 a.m. Sunday.

According to police, he had a semiautomatic handgun and forced a pregnant cashier to a back room where there was also an accountant.

The suspect then bound their hands with tape and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police say the suspect allegedly hit the pregnant victim in the stomach during the robbery.

She was taken to the hospital but appears to be OK.

The suspect is described as Hispanic, in his 30s, 5-foot-8 and 170 pounds.

He was seen wearing a black cap, sunglasses, a gray hoodie and a dark jacket.
