SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) - Police say a woman has been shot to death in southeast Georgia.

Savannah-Chatham police spokeswoman Eunicia Baker on Sunday tells the Savannah Morning News (https://bit.ly/1Nns6RZ ) that 43-year-old Kathy Henry was shot. Baker says Henry was taken to Memorial University Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

Baker says police were called to scene after 8:45 p.m. Saturday and found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Police are still investigating the cause of the shooting.

Henry’s death is the 22nd homicide in Savannah this year. That’s almost double the number of this time last year.
