PITTSBURGH (AP) - A 16-year-old Pittsburgh boy has been jailed and charged as an adult with shooting a man during an apparent robbery attempt.

A man in the car with the victim, 30-year-old Ryan Myers, says the suspect approached the car about 7:30 p.m. Saturday and asked if they wanted to “buy some dope.”

When they refused, the suspect, Daniel Mowry, allegedly shot the Myers as he tried to drive away.

Myers was reportedly in critical condition after being shot in the abdomen.

Online court records don’t list an attorney for Mowry, who is charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, robbery, carrying a firearm without a license and unlawful possession of a firearm by a minor.

He faces a preliminary hearing May 20.
