BEVERLY, Mass. (AP) - A Beverly man faces attempted murder and other charges after allegedly using a knife to attack three people at a city bar.

Police say 33-year-old Thomas Phillips is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Salem District Court.

Authorities say one victim sustained a stab wound to his chest, a second was stabbed in the shoulder, and a third suffered slash wounds to both hands after the attack at the Lucky Dog bar at about 12:30 a.m. Sunday. All three were treated at the hospital.

Based on witness statements, Phillips was arrested later in the day.

Bar staff tell WFXT-TV that Phillips was denied service, left, and then returned with a knife, stabbing two people inside and one outside.
