POST FALLS, Idaho (AP) - A historic village in Post Falls is getting prepared for demolition and residents will be able to purchase mementos from the site.

The Coeur d’Alene Press reports (https://bit.ly/1NnMVN0 ) that Dave Baker of the Prairie Barn LLC is selling pieces of the buildings in the Pleasant View village, which include a blacksmith shop and homestead. The structures date back to the 1890s.

Plans for the site include a new home built on land recently sold by relatives of the Plonske family, which homesteaded and started some of the businesses there.

Over the years, the village has been targeted for burglaries. Baker says an estimated $3,000 worth of items was stolen in the past two weeks, including a century-old wall-mounted drill press and a six-door panel.
