ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has scheduled two webinars on its deer management efforts.

DEC will provide an overview of the state’s deer management program and outline progress on current deer program activities, including a brief explanation of the recent decision to encourage hunters to voluntarily pass up young bucks. Also to be discussed will be current management priorities, including deer populations in cities and suburbs.

The online sessions are slated for Tuesday and Thursday evenings and the DEC says both will have the same content.

The general public can participate by connecting online from home or by joining DEC staff at locations throughout the state. DEC staff will be available online and in person afterward to answer questions.
