CHICOPEE, Mass. (AP) - A 10-year-old boy struck and seriously injured by a car while crossing a road in Chicopee late last week has died.

Police announced the death of Raiden Colon on their Facebook page on Monday morning.

Raiden was struck at about 8:30 p.m. Friday and taken to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield with critical injuries.

Police say the crash remains under investigation and the driver has been cooperating fully with investigators.

School administrators say the boy was a fourth-grader at the Gen. James Stefanik School. The school is making counselors available to help children cope with the loss.
