RADFORD, Va. (AP) - Radford University’s governing board has approved the school’s smallest tuition increase in 15 years.

The Roanoke Times reports (https://bit.ly/1T0EBje) that tuition for in-state students will increase by 2.77 percent next fall. Out-of-state students will see an increase of only 0.31 percent.

The board unanimously approved the rates Friday. In-state students will pay $10,081 a year, an increase of $272. Out-of-state students will pay $22,162, an increase of $69.

The university says it was able to keep the increases to a minimum because of an additional $1.5 million in funding from the state.
