GLASSBORO, N.J. (AP) - Rowan has named Joe Crispin its men’s basketball coach.

The university announced the change on Monday, saying longtime coach Joe Cassidy will remain on the staff as associate head coach.

Crispin has been the assistant coach for the men’s and women’s basketball programs the past two years. The former Penn State standout played with the Los Angeles Lakers and Phoenix Suns, and also in Europe.

Cassidy had a 336-187 record in 20 seasons. He guided the team to four appearances in the NCAA Division III tournament and 15 trips to the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Championship Tournament.

Rowan won the national championship in 1996 and reached the national semifinals in 1995 and 1993.
