JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) - There was a close call in New Jersey when an SUV crashed near the Holland Tunnel, narrowly missing a tanker truck that was delivering fuel to a gas station.

Port Authority Police spokesman Joe Pentangelo says the vehicle overturned and crashed early Monday close to a gas station where a tanker was delivering fuel just blocks from the tunnel.

A man was ejected from the vehicle and sustained a head injury. A 54-year-old woman sustained head and neck injuries and a 5-year-old girl sustained head and abdominal injuries. They’re in stable condition at a hospital.

Five other people in the vehicle declined medical treatment.

The driver, who is from Palm Beach, Florida, was ticketed for reckless driving and not having a child restraint.
