PICKENS, S.C. (AP) - Three Greenville residents have died and three other people were hurt in a head-on collision in Pickens County.

South Carolina Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. David Jones tells local media that the wreck happened Sunday afternoon when a Honda Pilot collided with a Honda Civic in Pickens County.

The Pickens County coroner’s office says the victims were the driver of the Civic, 25-year-old Megan Mullinax, and 14-year-old Kandice Broome and 9-year-old Furman Broome. Coroner Kandy Kelley says all three were wearing their seat belts.

Jones says the three people in the Honda Pilot were taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital in serious condition. The driver was 16 and the two passengers were 13. All were wearing seat belts.

The Highway Patrol is still investigating.
