COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) - The Missouri State Highway Patrol has identified a man who drowned in a lake in south Columbia.

Authorities say emergency crews responded to a water rescue call at Las Margaritas restaurant Saturday afternoon. Columbia Fire Department spokesman Brad Fraizer says 24-year-old Cole Bradley of Gladstone jumped into Swan Lake from the deck of the restaurant and attempted to swim to a floating fountain in the middle of the body of water.

Fraizer says Bradley went under about halfway to the fountain. Bradley was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Columbia Missourian (https://bit.ly/2frlreh ) reports that multiple bystanders had jumped into the water to look for Bradley before authorities arrived.
