LOS ANGELES (AP) - Former USC athletic director Pat Haden has been taken to a hospital by ambulance after becoming light-headed on campus.

USC Sports Information Director Tim Tessalone says Haden is alert and talkative.

Tuesday’s episode is similar to others the 63-year-old Haden has experienced.

In February, Haden became faint on campus and was taken to a hospital for tests. In October of last year, Haden was briefly hospitalized in South Bend, Indiana after he became ill on the sidelines before a football game against Notre Dame.

Haden, who has a pacemaker, retired in June but is working on renovation of the nearby Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
