RENO, Nev. (AP) - A 33-year-old Reno man who says he killed another Reno man because he found child pornography on the victim’s computer has been sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Michael Robbins pleaded guilty in September to murder with the use of a deadly weapon in the death of 43-year-old Patrick Drahos.

Washoe County prosecutors say Robbins strangled Drahos and stabbed him multiple times in his neck and torso in February.

Police say Robbins and a female companion had been staying at Drahos’ home for about two weeks.

Robbins told police he killed him after he found the child porn on his computer. He said he also stole some of Drahos’ computer equipment and set it on fire before he was arrested.

The district attorney says Washoe District Judge Lynne Simons sentenced him last week without the possibility of parole.
