WINNEMUCCA, Nev. (AP) - A single-vehicle rollover on a state highway in Winnemucca has claimed the life of a Sun Valley man.

The Nevada Highway Patrol says 28-year-old Andrew Byington was a passenger in a Dodge pickup truck when the driver lost control and it overturned on State Route 294 at about 8:15 a.m. Tuesday.

Byington was thrown from the truck. He was taken to Humboldt General Hospital, where he later died.

The patrol says the driver, 30-year-old Evan Barto of Winnemucca, also was hospitalized but his injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The patrol said Wednesday a preliminary investigation suggests alcohol was a factor in the crash. Neither man was wearing a seatbelt.
