OREM, Utah (AP) - A Utah high school coach who helped corner a student suspected in a locker-room stabbing that wounded five classmates says he tried to calm the boy and halt the attack.

Jordan Blanchard told KUTV (https://bit.ly/2fAE6D3) Wednesday that he was in the hallway at Mountain View Elementary when a student ran up to him covered in blood.

Blanchard says he found the suspect and another bleeding student in the locker room bathroom Tuesday. He and another coach formed a human wall to contain him until police could arrive.

He says he wanted to make sure the violence would stop.

Authorities say four of the five victims are still hospitalized, but their conditions are improving.

Police say the suspect was booked into a juvenile detention center on suspicion of five counts of attempted murder.
