Police investigating after man shot in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) - Police are investigating after a man was shot in Springfield.

Police say the man was found lying on the street in the city’s Six Corners neighborhood with a gunshot wound to the chest around 8:45 p.m. Wednesday.

The victim was taken to Baystate Medical Center with injuries police say appeared to be non-life-threatening. He wasn’t immediately identified.

There was no word on any possible suspects.
